About the Job:
- The successful candidate would assist in leading a team of healthcare workers, student nurses and preceptorship nurses, and TNAs to develop and deliver a high-quality specialist (assessment and treatment) health service provision to adults with an intellectual disability. Patients accessing the service have complex and diverse needs.
- You will provide knowledge of multi-disciplinary/multi professional working, risk management and associated mental health care needs, to the team.
- You will be required to maintain records and documentation in line with Trust policies and NMC regulations, and lead within a named nurse group; providing support to carers and families of individuals who access our services.
- You will assist the unit manager and deputy team leaders in leading the team to ensure a high-quality assessment, formulation, implementation, and evaluation of patients’ needs, and monitor the quality and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
- Applicants must have experience working with patients with an intellectual disability and must be able to demonstrate awareness of current issues and legislation affecting people with intellectual disabilities in relation to detained and non-detained patients.
- As part of the Orion Unit Team, you will be supported to deliver the most up-to-date clinical practice, and you will receive active clinical and managerial supervision.
- You will provide clinical supervision/appraisals to named team members.
- We will support your ongoing career development, extensive training, and support, and offer a comprehensive preceptorship program if required.
- You will be required to work a rational 24 hr shift pattern, including days, nights, and weekends.
- You will be required to have an RNLD or RMN and relevant experience working with people with an ID.
