About the Job:
- The healthcare assistant’s role in the minor injury unit is a combination of reception/clerical responsibilities and delivering safe, effective nursing care for all patients within their competency range.
- Undertake clinical procedures following assessment of competencies under direct supervision of emergency nurse practitioners, including application of plaster of Paris and dressings.
- Carry out delegated nursing care, including observations of patients.
- Welcome patients into MIU and book them onto the required IT systems.
- Adhere to all trust policies and procedures.
- Report and communicate effectively with other staff members, patients, and relatives.
- Ensure confidentiality, dignity, privacy, and respect for patients always.
- Assist and participate in activities to meet occupational needs of patients.
