About the Job
At the direction of the registered nurse, participate fully in the delivery of planned nursing care and, following competency assessment, use advanced clinical skills such as venepuncture, catheterisation, aseptic technique, wound care, PEG feeds, and syringe driver monitoring.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of patients’ care needs
- Assist the RGN in the evaluation of care and maintain accurate patient charts as appropriate
- Involve patients and carers/relatives in the delivery of care.
- Provide reassurance and support to patients and carers/families.
- Work collaboratively with others in the hospice to ensure that patients’ needs are met.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to difficult situations.
- Undertake transfer and escort of patients as appropriate
