About the Job:
- Provide patient 1:1 care and support through observation, interaction and de-escalation skills aiming to reduce the risk of patient harm and enhancing patient experience.
- Ensure that all care needs, support, and supervision is person-centred and inclusive, familiarising yourself with patient information and care plans is necessary for the delivery of appropriate patient care and support.
- Provide support and reassurance to patients and others at times of distress. The use of de-escalation techniques may be required to manage exhibited behaviours that may present challenging.
- Maintain a safe clinical environment, prevention, and control of infection by ensuring compliance with policies, standards and procedures and undertaking delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the ward and service.
- Work cohesively with all members of the ward team ensuring that the very best care and support to patients is always provided. Communicating effectively with patients, relatives/carers and members of the multidisciplinary network of professionals regarding all aspects of care.
