About the Job:
- Deliver high-quality direct patient care, supporting patients with activities of daily living such as personal care, nutrition and mobility
- Undertake and record clinical observations (e.g. NEWS2), escalating concerns appropriately to registered staff
- Support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care, working under the direction of registered nurses
- Assist in the delivery of clinical procedures within competency (e.g. ECGs, venepuncture, catheter care where trained)
- Contribute to the admission, transfer and discharge processes, ensuring patients are supported throughout their pathway
- Act as a role model, promoting high standards of care, professionalism and compassionate practice
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and records
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive patient experience
- Support a safe ward environment, adhering to infection prevention, moving and handling, and safeguarding procedures
- Contribute to maintaining stock levels, equipment readiness and general ward organisation
- Participate in training, competency development and ongoing learning, supporting both personal development and that of others
- Assist in ensuring the ward meets quality, safety and patient experience standards
