About the Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen with Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust for sponsorship of NMC registered practitioners to undertake the BSc (Hons) / Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) School Nursing. This will lead to registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
The aim of the programme is to prepare SCPHNs with the knowledge & skills to provide leadership and innovation in community health. The wider goals are to improve population health, in particular the health of children and families, and to prevent illness. SCPHNs will have the community capacity building skills to support the development of community based health and wellbeing services.
Specialist Community Public Health Nursing is a one-year full-time course combining taught modules at the University of the West of England (Bristol) and a clinical placement within one of 6 localities in Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be required to be flexible and able to travel anywhere within the county.
