Loxley Ward is a 24 bedded Oncology/Haematology ward within the CAS division. We are looking to recruit nurses to be part of a supportive team We are looking for individuals, who are enthusiastic, confident; self-motivated and possess good communication skills, enjoy a challenge, and can work as part of a team.

Loxley is a 24 bedded mixed sex Oncology and Haematology ward specializing in treating patients with the side effects of their cancer, side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and palliative care.
You will be joining a diverse and motivated team that is dedicated to the development of specialist clinical skills and the delivery of high-quality safe patient care.

This position is an internal rotation post and you will be expected to work nights, weekends, bank holidays, etc.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care ensuring that these are evaluated and amended as appropriate.
Document the condition and progress of patients and report to medical staff and/or senior nursing staff any areas of concern.
Undertake nursing procedures and techniques by agreed policies and guidelines.
Demonstrate clinical procedures to registered and unregistered staff as required.
Once competent in team management skills, take charge of the clinical area regularly in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility or his/her deputy.
Be aware of your role in the Medicines Code of Practice.
Comply with all Trust policies with particular regard to the policies and procedures carried out in the event of maintaining staff and patient safety.
Liaise with other clinical areas providing appropriate policies, education, and clinical expertise to facilitate the management of patients with special requirements.
Maintain an awareness of the developments in the care and treatment of patients to be able to carry out duties competently and efficiently
Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to promote efficient patient care and maintain effective channels of communication.
Maintain accurate patient records
Communicate with and provide support for patients’ relatives, carers, and visitors.
