About the Job:
- Complete medication rounds in the units and dispense controlled medication
- Attend emergency response situations; these include restraints (observation only) and/or life-threatening emergencies, and complete post-incident reports and paperwork
- Assess children at the center on admission within appropriate timeframes
- Triage and assess children’s health needs
- Refer children to any other primary or secondary healthcare professionals
- Chase information regarding children from external agencies.
- Management and care of minor illness and injuries
- Be the named lead nurse for an area of healthcare
- To play a key role in the focus of delivering trauma-informed practice
- To ensure effective pre-release care planning.
- To undertake comprehensive assessments and work with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that planned care is individual and appropriate to the needs of the patient
- To work across systems/providers in the locality to ensure effective pathways for children and young people
