About the Job:
- Provide the full range of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care for women, birthing people, and their babies.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care programs, ensuring care is safe, evidence-based, and woman-centered.
- Promote physiological birth and support women and birthing people to make informed choices throughout their maternity journey.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to complications, clinical deterioration, and obstetric emergencies, and escalate concerns when required.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of maternal and neonatal care.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to student midwives, newly qualified staff, and support workers.
- Act as an advocate for women and families, ensuring dignity, respect, and safeguarding principles are embedded in practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with Trust standards and professional requirements.
- Participate in audit, quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and incident reporting activities.
- Contribute to the delivery of a 24-hour maternity service, including participation in the on-call rota.
