About the Job:
- Assess patients for interventional radiology procedures using pre-assessment criteria and provide clear information about their planned procedure.
- Care for patients during procedures, offering support, monitoring observations, administering medications, inserting and removing cannulas, and checking CBG levels.
- Provide post-procedure care, monitoring recovery and arranging safe transfer to recovery areas or wards.
- Assist with preparing sterile fields and specialist equipment, undertaking scrub and circulating nurse roles during procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE, including lead aprons, during fluoroscopy cases.
- Safely administer sedation following completion of sedation training.
- Liaise with Radiologists regarding procedures, manage bookings, and coordinate with bed managers, specialist nurses and the wider team to ensure smooth patient pathways.
- Act as a practice assessor for nursing students, support learners across the MDT, and help coordinate student placements.
- Work independently to organise, prioritise and coordinate your daily workload, and take on Nurse-in-Charge responsibilities once experienced.

- All new staff will complete a six-month probationary period. Travel between hospital sites may be required.
