About the Job:
Clinical:
Support registered radiology/nursing staff in the provision of essential care to patients by assisting patients whilst in the radiology department according to trust policy and procedures with:
- Acting as a chaperone whilst undergoing some examinations
- To assist in the Imaging rooms, giving explanations and reassurance
- Aiding dressing and undressing
- To be able to undertake reception duties when required
- Help to promote and maintain a clean, comfortable and tidy environment in the department, which meets the needs of patients, their relatives/carers and friends
- Contribute to accurate written and computerised documentation relevant to patient care ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Assist the multi professional team to prepare and support patients undergo treatment and/or investigation maintaining privacy and dignity at all times
- Chaperone patients during intimate procedures as required.
- Escort and transport non-acute patients with no treatment in progress and/or their relatives/carers to other wards and departments within the Trust , via wheelchair, beds and trolleys
- Be aware of the importance of good health and the health education needs of patients as identified within individual care plans.
