About the Job:
- Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, and record findings accurately
- Support annual review checks for chronic diseases, e.g., hypertension, diabetes, asthma, etc
- Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring
- Carry out ECGs
- Carry out BMI checks and provide weight management advice.
- Administer blood tests
- Carry out spirometry tests
- Intramuscular injections under PSD
- Undertake wound care and carry out simple dressings
- Removal of sutures
- Undertake NHS Health Check
- Processing of samples, e.g., urine
- Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
- Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
- Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins are replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording, including weekly data loggers
- Medical equipment and vaccine ordering, stocking control, and rotation
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations, coil fits, and contraceptive implant fitting
- Act as a chaperone as required
- Participate in administrative tasks to support the practice in meeting QOF targets
- Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the practice nurse or practice business manager.
