About the Job:
Clinical duties
- Undertake clinical observations and procedures including BP, BMI, venepuncture, ECGs, and urinalysis
- Support delivery of NHS Health Checks and screening programmes
- Assist with long-term condition monitoring and patient recall
- Support immunisation and vaccination clinics (including childrens, where trained)
- Perform wound care and dressings within competency
- Act as chaperone when required
- Identify and escalate any clinical concerns to a registered clinician
Patient care and health promotion
- Provide health promotion and lifestyle advice (e.g. smoking cessation, weight management)
- Support uptake of screening and preventative programmes
- Deliver compassionate, person-centred care to a diverse population
Administrative and organisational duties
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Support recall systems, QOF, and quality improvement activity
- Ensure clinical rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared
- Adhere to infection prevention and control procedures
Team working and development
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
- Participate in training, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to a positive learning and development culture
Professional responsibilities
- Work within scope of practice as a Band 4 HCA
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection
- Follow practice policies and safeguarding procedures
- Engage in appraisal and ongoing professional development
