About the Job:
The post holder will:
- Act as a specialist resource for women and birthing people with diabetes during pregnancy.
- Provide expert assessment, education, support and care planning.
- Participate in specialist diabetes antenatal clinics and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Work collaboratively with obstetric, medical and neonatal colleagues to optimise maternal and neonatal outcomes.
- Support women with blood glucose monitoring, medication management and lifestyle interventions.
- Deliver education and support to midwifery and maternity staff regarding diabetes care pathways.
- Contribute to audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
- Support the implementation of local and national maternity and diabetes standards.
