About the Job:
- Communication and working relationships will be with team members, other teams, women and their families, and other health professionals.
- Actively supports women and their families through communicating difficult and complex information using a variety of methods to ensure effective understanding.
- Responsible for supporting and counselling women who are pregnant, explaining choices they have in midwifery care.
- Proactively support women who require specialist investigations to monitor the health of their baby, including the provision of antenatal screening advice and counselling.
- Ensure effective communication is maintained between members of the multidisciplinary team to enable appropriate individuals to be aware of changes to women and families’ plan of care.
- Ensure information is conveyed to women in a timely and understanding manner using different communication methods to clarify understanding.
- Plans care for women, managing workload that will include antenatal and postnatal clinics and home visiting options, home birth, and births in the obstetric and midwifery led units.
