I am nurse Goodness, an international nurse that is passionate about nursing, resourceful, very competent, efficient and proactive looking for a job sponsorship to practice in UK, I have written and passed my CBT and IELTS and has the decision letter to sit for OSCE
The skills and qualities I have acquired over the years include being, competent to deliver patient centered care, that is, always putting the patient first at all times, working in collaboration with patients and their families. Delivering safe,quality, compassionate care has always been my core foundation when patients are left in my care. As a professional, I have developed good work ethics as I always adhere to the organization values, policies and guidelines while communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary team.Throughout my career, I have always obtained informed consent from patients, embraced diversity with people from all works of life by showing empathy and respect to their beliefs, maintaining confidentiality,safeguarding risk assessment and overall caring for patients holistically.

Over the years, I have thrived excellently working in various settings such as surgical wards, accident and emergency unit, geriatric wards, ENT clinic, children’s ward, peadiatric oncology ward, antenatal ward , obstetric and gynaecological ward, psychiatric out patient clinic and different medical wards including adults and children. I have a training on patients satisfaction, the art of customer service for health care industry. I am seeking long term employment with a world renowned Trust like yours, known for their dedication to patient safety,modern research, good outstanding CQC ratings, positive patient experience feedback,state of the art facilities and low mortality rates etc. Having witnessed the hard work NHS hospitals worked during the pandemic has solidified my interest to commit my working life to the NHS to make a positive impact to patients and this is my reason for applying for this post.

As a nurse with over 12years of experience, I have developed various strengths that will be of benefit to this role. I have the ability to work under pressure without compromising patients safety and quality of care, for example I have worked in a busy paediatric surgical ward with 25beds, although the number of patients actually was high, I was always able to manage my time effectively while providing quality care. I learn quickly and I am able to work competently without direct supervision. In my my current role as an assistant chief nursing Officer at Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri, which is one of the biggest tertiary hospital in Nigeria, I am a student mentor , I received the most positive patient feedback from patients, my colleagues will describe me as a great communicator, team worker and someone who delivers outstanding patient care. I am very resourceful and usually will go above and beyond the extra mile for my patients. Also, as an assistant chief nursing officer, I frequently have been charged with the responsibility of taking charge of the ward, prioritizing and organising patient care, ensuring the safe ordering, administration and custody of patients’ medications, carrying out admissions according to the hospital policy, assessment and preparation of patients undergoing treatment and investigation as well as coordinating discharge plans.

Permit me to tell you that I am a registered nurse ,who trained in a school of nursing, and obtained a diploma in nursing science. I am registered under the nursing and
midwifery council of Nigeria as a registered nurse,and also as a registered midwife, currently doing my B.NSc in National Open University. Also I am trained and certified in basic life support (BLS), Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric Advanced life support(PALS) from post graduate institute of medicine.
As part of the application process, I am also registered with the
NMC UK, and have my NMC PRN.
And in these past 12 years of my practice as a nurse, I have worked in a 100, 180 and 670 bedded hospital environment respectively, I have worked in various departments and units within a multidisciplinary team, providing continuing care to various patients.
Additionally, I have provided here beyond the hospital settings by doing a part time job with IDEAL MOBILE CLINIC.
I have adapted my communication skills to support patients from a wide range of cultural and social background. I believe I possess an excellent communication skills both written and verbal, because it helps me provide effective care to patients. Also, I have been
able to deal with many challenging situations, including verbal and physical aggression from patients/ relatives. An example of this in my current role
was when I had to deal with an episode of violence, from a patient relative who was extremely angry about the patient’s deteriorating conditions. I
spoke to him in a mild and compassionate tone,showed empathy while explaining the current course of management and possible outcome. The
relative sent me a ‘Thank you’ note and said my empathy had made the experience more bearable than it would have been.
Also feedback from various patients who have been under my care, stated that i am caring and compassionate, a good listener and someone who is
set to respond to patients needs using innovative means and a way that enhances their wellbeing.
These transferable experiences will enable me to always provide a first class level of service to the trust patients.

Majority of my postings has on medical wards but currently, I work in the geriatric unit of the hospital, which is a 20 bedded ward in a FEDERAL University Teaching Hospital with over 670 beds in total. Caring for older adults with mental health needs and managing
cases such as Alzheimer’s diseases/Parkinson’s, complex and enhanced dementia, delirium, amnesia, Orion’s,COPD and many more.
I also have a good knowledge about the mental health Act 2005, to assist those who are unable to make decisions independently and a good
knowledge of safe guarding act 2014, as I have the responsibility of safeguarding and protecting vulnerable adult and children from abuse, regardless
of the setting in which the care takes place.
I have developed the following strengths which has made me outstanding in the
care I deliver:
-I possess the skills of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised program of care in partnership with the patients, their carers
and the multidisciplinary team.
– I have experience in the care of the elderly and children
– I possess good triage skills and can work effectively under pressure.

– I am able to work and cope with rotating shift patterns

– I am also able to manage exposure to sudden bereavement.

adequate health practices, which are Autonomy, Beneficence, Non maleficence and Justice. Furthermore, I am a computer literate and proficient in the
use of Microsoft word,excel,and other related applications.
In the long run I hope to improve in my professional capability by undertaking further trainings as I love challenges

Lastly, I have a flexible approach, which means I can help to cover extra shifts and help out at short notice as and when required. I believe what sets me apart is that I always follow organizations guidelines religiously, for example, when administering medication, I make sure I follow every steps required of me before I administer medication to patients. I always make sure that I represent the company I work for well by adhering to their values.
