About the Job:
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Deliver High-Quality Care: Ensure a high standard of care is consistently provided to meet the needs of the individuals we support. Oversee and guide the care team to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
- Effective Communication: Maintain clear, effective communication through verbal and written channels. Accurately document resident updates and inform senior care team members of day-to-day changes.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Manage wound care and ensure adherence to care procedures in line with established policies. Oversee the ordering, administration, and recording of medications in compliance with statutory requirements and organizational policies.
- Personalized Care: Provide personal care to residents, including washing, dressing, and toileting, tailored to individual needs. Offer physical, emotional, and spiritual support to enhance residents’ well-being.
- Staff Management and Development: Conduct staff supervision and appraisals for assigned teams/units. Actively participate in the training and professional development of all team members.
- Operational and Quality Management: Implement agreed changes in routines and procedures in collaboration with the Manager. Complete the duty Rota and perform internal quality audits as directed. Assist in the assessment of prospective residents to ensure suitable placement and care planning.
- Budget and Resource Management: Support the Manager in maintaining financial efficiency within agreed budget parameters.
- Leadership Support: Valid nursing registration with the appropriate regulatory body. Proven experience in patient care, preferably in a nursing home setting. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively assess patient needs. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to work independently while demonstrating strong organizational skills.

Essential requirement: NMC Pin It is anticipated that the responsibilities outlined in this job description will be achieved with the appropriate ongoing support and development associated with annual appraisal and assessment.
Principle Responsibilities:
Quality/clinical governance
1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of residents on admission with the involvement of residents and their relatives/carers.
2. Participate in internal shift rotation in order to provide 24-hour resident care
3. Participate within and as appropriate provide leadership to a team of nurses and support workers in the delivery of patient care
4. Maintain good communication links with the multidisciplinary team and all other relevant personnel
5. Continue to develop and maintain those competencies and skills required in the management of residents
6. Implement audit protocols in order to demonstrate standards of care and effect change
7. At all times act as the resident’s advocate
8. Plan, undertake and evaluate clinical procedures and treatments in line with the resident’s plan of care.
9. Support residents in maintaining their health and wellbeing.
10. Ensuring the service meets the standards set by LBE and external bodies relevant to the service including NHS nursing standards, End of Life Care and Care Quality Commission.
